While stability is Leko’s trademark, his presence among the world elite demonstrates that talent and success are just as appropriate descriptors for Hungary’s top player. To him chess has an unassailable logic: he will always strive to play the correct moves in any position, defending tenaciously when necessary and rarely giving up a whole point, even if seldom risking a loss to attempt to find a win. Regardless, he has proven that he can go toe-to-toe with anyone, and should be a likely bet for a plus-finish in Jermuk.
